Since an ADB database hassome restrictions on the object types and Oracle Database Options you need to use a logical migration method rather than a physical one.

The main migration tool for migrating to ADB is Data Pump. You can export your schemas and import them into ADB usingData Pump. To sync up the additional/incremental changes on the source database during the export/import process you can use GoldenGate or GoldenGate Cloud Service to replicate those changes to ADB.

In the current release you cannot use physical migrationmethods like backup/restore, Data Guard, Pluggable/Unplug , database clones, and transportable tablespaces to move your existing database to ADB.

Clone Sources

You can use a running database to create a clone. For databases running on shared Exadata infrastructure, you can also use a backup as the source of your clone. When using a backup, you can select a listed backup to clone from, or create a point-in-time clone. Point-in-time clones contain all data up to a specified timestamp. The specified timestamp must be in the past.

 NoteWhen you create a clone from a backup, you must select a backup that is at least two hours old.

Create a New Instance Administrator

Login to the INTERNAL workspace as the ADMIN user, or another existing admin user.

Click the "Create User" link on the right-hand menu.

For anew admin user enter mandatory items and the following.

Workspace : INTERNAL

Default Schema : APEX_180200 {or whatever the highest version is}

User is an administrator: Yes

Account Availability : Unlocked

Password and Confirmation Password.

Require Changeof Password on First Use : Yes

Click the "Create User" button.
